Learn Canoe Slalom with The Sharks Canoe Club at Harefield whitewater course
Spring Programme to develop your paddling skills through to your first slalom race.
Kayaks, paddles, PFDs and helmets provided. Parental engagement required, from the bank.
Small groups of just 3-4 paddlers with a qualified coach (insured, DBS, First Aid, Safeguarding trained)
- Progression tracked, session by session, with personalised booklets, stickers and incentives.
- Video analysis (subject to parental consent) to watch your progress and to show your family.
6 sessions over 6 weeks for ages 10 to 16*, Home-schoolers (2.30-3.30), After-schoolers (4.00-5.00)
Location: beside The Coy Carp Inn, Coppermill Lane, Harefield (with food and beverages available)
Plus bonus swimming pool sessions, in N Greenford, to practice capsizing and learn to roll upright.

On programme completion, subscribe again or continue with The Sharks' regular club sessions (Sunday mornings & Tuesday evenings) for paddlers of all ages and abilities and pay-as-you-go.

A note on Racing:
- You choose when you're ready and where to do your first slalom race. Introductory races are well-organised, suitable for beginners, with Sharks' coaches attending to help our paddlers. Race weekends typically have separate races on the Saturday and Sunday – enter either one, or both. You will need to pay the modest entry fees and arrange travel and accommodation as needed. The Sharks will take there the kayaks and equipment you'll need, at no cost.

- o 29-30 August, Cromford Peak Challenge, Derbyshire
