Athlete Booking
Requirements
We believe this event offers athletes and coaches the opportunity to run through and refine race day plans and processes in an inconsequential environment.
The aim of this event is to support athletes to practice their race day routines and race plans prior to the first regatta of the season in April. Athletes should seek to use the event as an opportunity to practice their processes, including planning their race day timings, executing their race plans over 500m & 1000m and to then reflect and review before considering any changes moving into the season.
The day will consist of two individual time trials over 1000m and 500m, followed by some head to head racing over 400m. Athletes will be issued a time trial start time for each distance and the head to head racing will be determined off 500m times and age groups.
The role of Paddle UK's pathway team is to facilitate this event. We will act as the regatta organisers and will not be there with a specific coaching remit. We encourage club coaches to attend and support their athletes with these processes. To support club coaches, Scott Hynds ([email protected]) our Flatwater Coach Developer will be present . Coaches should not hesitate to get in contact with Scott prior to the event to discuss key areas of support they may want or need.
Athletes are welcome to participate in this day in either K1 or C1 and must be ranked in A or B to attend.
Due to the management of the day and our capacity at the venue, athletes will be accepted on a first come first serve basis with up to 60 spaces available on the water. It is hoped that athletes come on the day with their club coach but attendance is not limited by this.
The cancellation policy for this event is the responsibility of the organiser. Please use the contacts for this to request details.
