SUP trip - Fall Ings Lock towards Horbury Junction
Requirements
River Trip – Fall Ings Lock towards Horbury Junction and Back to Fall Ings Lock (4–5 miles).
Join us for a relaxed SUP trip from Fall Ings Lock in Wakefield towards Horbury Junction and back, covering about 4 to 5 miles in total. It usually takes around 4 hours and can be tailored to fit your group’s pace and preferences.
***On most trips, we will paddle towards Horbury Junction but not reach it. If the whole group is experienced enough, we may be able to reach Horbury Junction (extended trip).
*One portage is required just before the broken wire across the river.
You don't need your own equipment - we provide everything! Just come in comfortable clothes and ready to have fun. *Please bring some spare clothes in case you need to change and snacks to refuel.
This trip is great for anyone aged 16 and up who has some SUP experience or has at least done an intro session.
We’ll meet at Fall Ings Lock (Google map - https://maps.app.goo.gl/pr9DXmY8ZfQfMX1B8, what3words - ///healers.book.moss ), where you’ll get a safety briefing and all the equipment.
We’ll start paddling from Fall Ings Lock and about 2-3 miles in, after passing a couple of locks, we’ll stop for a break with snacks to refuel. On the way back, you’ll enjoy gently drifting along the calm, wide river, with the sounds of water and birds around you. Then we’ll finish back at Fall Ings Lock, where we started.
If you want a trip that’s made just for your group, give us a shout!
We recommend having at least an intro SUP session before joining this river trip.
Other routes are available too, like Stanley Ferry heading towards Castleford. Check our events or call us for details.
In the event of bad weather, the SUP trip may be cancelled or rearranged. The decision will depend on the severity of the weather and its potential impact on safety. The minimum number of participants is 2.
Depending on the circumstances, a refund or credit for a future session may be offered.
The cancellation policy for this event is the responsibility of the organiser. Please use the contacts for this to request details.
